Fresh Sugar Lip Polish & Lip Serum

I discovered these two products at the Glamour Beauty Festival in London. Yet another product I stumbled across in my attempt to rid my lips of their dry Winter flakiness!  The Fresh Sugar Lip Polish seems like a great product that could be the answer to my flaking lips.

Sugar Lip Polish

What is it?

A gentle conditioning exfoliant that leaves lips incredibly soft and smooth. Using brown sugar crystals, natural humectants that prevent moisture loss, to buff away dry flakes while shea butter and jojoba oil nourish the skin.

How to use

You only need a very small amount of the product, which I massaged into my dry lips with my finger.  I then rinsed/wiped off my lips with a wet cloth.  The directions recommend using this product 2-3 times a week to keep lips smooth.

My Thoughts

This product actually feels quite nice.  It is a grainy sort of balm with sugar exfoliating bits on it. Like I said before, you don’t need much of the lip polish, so it does last quite a long time. I found applying this product was quite messy, so would recommend using this as part of your skincare routine and not after you have done your full face of makeup.

The taste is very sweet and sugary, and can only be described as similar to Coca Cola, however I don’t recommend eating it all haha.

The sugar exfoliator scrubs off any flakes of dead skin and the balm leaves them feeling very smooth, hydrated and feeling absolutely amazing! Matt lipstick has always been my enemy with dry lips, but this is the perfect lip prep to avoid pesky dry flaking lips.

My lips actually stayed completely smooth for 2 days after use, but I think I would need to repeat this every 2-3 days as recommended to maintain the smooth and even texture.

PROS:

  1. Quick fix for flaky lips
  2. The balm texture added hydration
  3. Left my lips smooth, soft and hydrated
  4. Sweet fragrance & flavour

CONS:

  1. Quite expensive – although it lasts quite a while – £19.50 available here
  2. Can be a bit messy – important to use before make up application
