Pixi Beauty Treats – Jasmine Oil, Glow Mud Cleanser, Rose Tonic, Tinted Balm

I have a big big love for the Pixi Beauty brand and Glow Tonic has been a staple in my skin care routine for a long time.  I was excited to try some of these new products, here’s how I got on.

Jasmine Oil

What is it?

oil blend is especially effective in helping skin recover from loss of moisture and dullness. It helps repair damage as well as calm and restores stressed and unbalanced skin

How to use it

This can be used AM & PM every day.   You can warm a few drops in your hands and gently press onto cleansed, toned skin.  I tend to use this just in the morning and add 2-3 drops to my moisturiser to add an extra boost of hydration.

Initial Thoughts

I have mentioned before in other posts that I am always wary of oils with my blemish prone skin. My skin coped a lot better mixing a couple of drops in with my moisturiser, I found it very hydrating without an oily residue. My skin has improved a lot, this oil seems to have helped calm my redness and inflammation and hasn’t broken me out at all.

PROS

  1. Can be used alone or with moisturiser
  2. Calming & healing
  3. No oily residue
  4. Great morning and night

CONS

  1. I think using it twice a day might be a little too much for me and my oily skin

Glow Mud Cleanser

What is it?

A deep pore cleansing mud that gently exfoliates while purifying for radiant skin

How to use it

This can be used morning and night, but I tend to just use this in the morning. I apply a small amount to damp skin and massage gently for about 30 seconds, the instructions state to avoid the eye area. I then rinse and pat skin dry.

Initial Thoughts

I really like the texture of the cleanser, it is quite thick but massages in to a cream on the skin.  The smell is pleasant, there is a scent but subtle and spa like. This cleanser contains 5% glycolic and leaves my skin ridiculously smooth and soft. It is mild and provides gentle exfoliation, the mud deeply cleanses and leaves my skin so clean without it being tight. I have found it preps my skin perfectly for make up.  I am really loving it!

PROS

  1. Not tested on animals
  2. Gorgeous texture
  3. Leaves skin clean and smooth
  4. Great for all skin types.

CONS

  1. Does have a scent which might put people off.

Rose Tonic

What is it?

Naturally soothing and rich in nutrients, this tonic helps to tone, balance pH, minimize redness and calm skin. Rehydrates, replenishes and refreshes“.

How to use it

I apply to cleansed skin using a cotton pad to sweep over my face & neck.  When chatting with the Pixi Beauty lady at the Glamour Beauty Festival, she recommended using the Rose Tonic in the morning for added moisture and the Glow Tonic in the evening for added glow.

Initial Thoughts

I like the smell of rose, but some people really hate it. This really adds hydration to my skin after cleansing and makes my skin feel amazing! It is light and absorbs well into the skin, a great toner that is a must for me when my skin cries out for that boost of moisture.

PROS

  1. Available in a mini, which is perfect for a trial size
  2. Boosts hydration
  3. Soothing and re-balancing

CONS

  1. Rose scent could be a deal breaker for some

Tinted Lip Balm

What is it?

Unique formula is rich but lightweight and gives a gorgeous wash of colour to lips. This balm soothes lips immediately & nourishes them long term. Shea butter nourishes the skin & Vitamin E protects

How to use it

Apply to lips as needed for a burst of colour and protection.

Initial Thoughts

I often try to use this instead of lipsticks for every day use, as I find lipsticks quite dehydrating. The colour is buildable which is great and it does seem to help my lips much better than if I wore lipstick. It isn’t a long lasting colour, if thats what you are after, then this isn’t for you.

PROS

  1. Protects and nourishes
  2. Buildable colour
  3. Perfect alternative to lipstick

CONS

  1. Not a long lasting colour
  2. £8 for a lip balm is slightly more expensive, then again as a lipstick alternative it’s cheap haha

Overall, winner winner from Pixi Beauty!  I am really enjoying my new products, but if I really had to pick my favs, I would say the Glow Mud Cleanser and the Jasmine oil.  These would be the ones I would definitely repurchase.
