This is something I have wanted to try for aggggesss! Still holding out for the Saturn Sulphur mask too, but it isn’t available in the UK yet. Cult Beauty had a flash sale for 25% off Sunday Riley so I grabbed this with both hands!
What is it?
“An innovative ‘essence’ targeting dehydrated, acne-prone complexions – infusing skin with moisture while alleviating stress and soothing redness to help calm and clarify. A great post-cleansing booster for oily skin, it prevents a shiny complexion and leaves your face perfectly prepped for moisturiser or foundation”
How do I use this?
After cleansing I applied one pump to my fingers and massaged it gently into my dry skin. The light green runny gel disappears into a clear water toner. You can use a cotton pad if you’d prefer, but I just find it easier to use my fingers. Can be used morning or night.
Whats in it?
Bentonite Clay – lifts away excess sebum & tightens pores to reduce breakouts & deliver a matte finish, reducing redness and irritation.
Marshmallow & Green Tea – Helps to soothe redness and irritation
Manuka & Black Cumin and Magnolia Bark extracts – anti-bacterial properties to help prevent blemishes.
Initial Thoughts
Great for my dehydrated oily skin as it doesn’t feel heavy. I haven’t noticed any immediate effects, but possibly continued use over a long period of time will help. I have seen some minor reduction in redness but nothing to write home about. The smell is less than ideal, I can cope with it but it’s not pleasant. This could be a deal breaker for many people.
I really enjoy using this. It is so easy to use and fit into my current routine. I am currently only using this at night. It absorbs so easily without leaving any greasy residue or heavy feeling on my skin.
PROS
- Absorbs very well into my skin without leaving a heavy residue
- Has really helped oil control – made my skin more matt through out the day with less need for powder top ups.
- Very cooling on the skin
- Need to test further but so far has helped existing blemishes but reducing redness.
CONS
- Expensive £48 (when it is full price – a big con really!)
- Smell – some people might find it a con, it’s not the nicest smell but not too unpleasant.
This is interesting. Shame you weren’t over-struck on it though. I’ve not heard of it before so thought I’d pop over and have a read. Thanks for sharing lovely!
