The Glamour Beauty Festival 2018

I saw this event last year and wished I had got tickets, so when I got the email this year, I jumped at the chance. You can buy tickets for morning only sessions, afternoon only session or for the whole day.  Since I had travelled from Leeds, I chose the full day!

The beauty festival is held at the Saachi Gallery in London and is split into different zones across 3 floors.

Skincare

Elizabeth Arden

We visited the skincare zone first and went straight in for the Elizabeth Arden stand.  I had seen Alessandra talk so much about the oxygen blast facial, I had to try it.  A serum is chosen to match your skin type (I was given lifting) and it is sprayed onto your face using a special applicator.  Pure oxygen mixed with the mist serum is lightly run over your skin and around your eyes, it felt sooo cooling and left my skin looking brighter and more hydrated!  You can even use this over make up! The stand had money off products, as well as a goodie bag if you spent over £50!  I picked up the Ceramide capsules and the goodie bag!  Eek!

Fresh Beauty

Next we moved onto the Fresh Beauty stand, we did have to queue, but no longer than 30-40mins.  Lovely Glamour staff (The Glam Squad) came round the queues with Lindt chocolates, Naked snack bars and Twinnings tea, so time passed quickly. I enjoyed a fabulous mini facial, which involved an exfoliating mask and a hydrating moisturising cream. My skin was smooth, hydrated and felt amazing! The stand had an offer too, spend £50 and receive a little make up bag with some free goodies! I picked up the miniature Soy Cleaner, Miniature Umbrian Clay mask and the Advanced Lip Serum. If you didn’t buy anything you still received a tote bag and a little sample selection!

Pixi Beauty

Who could resist Pixi?!  That was next on my hit list!  We had to queue again, but not quite as long as before. You could choose from a delicate glow facial (better for sensitive skin) or a signature glow facial.  I went for the Signature Glow and had a lovely lady perform my facial.  The treatment included the Mud Cleanser, Oxygen mask, Jasmin oil with moisturiser and a hydrating mist to finish.  I don’t think my skin has looked or felt so insane!!  The pixi stand had an offer too (uh oh) I think it was 20% off products and a free lip product with every purchase!  Who could pass that up! I bagsied the Mud Cleanser and Jasmin Oil and my Mum got their famous Glow Tonic!

The had a cute photo booth too, where you can post a pic to Instagram, hashtag and they print your photo out and hang it on their gorgeous tree (can you see our pic below?!)

Nude By Nature

The queues were too big for some of the make up brands at this point and with not much time before lunch, we decided to get our brows done.  I went for something more nature and simple, using their brow mascara, super quick, easy and effective.

There wasn’t too much time left before the Festival closed for lunch, but we had a look around some of the other areas and managed to pay a visit to the haircare section.

Hair Care

The were several stations offering styling and colouring, but I chose to go to OGX to get my hair braided. Again there was a queue, but this time only about 20minutes.  I am terrible at doing my hair so was excited that someone was going to do it for me.

Lunch

The festival closes for lunch 1.30pm – 2.30pm, so we went off to find something to eat before heading back for the afternoon session. The afternoon session seemed even busier than the morning, so many people were in the queue.

We decided to head straight to makeup when we got back into the Beauty festival.

Make Up

Laura Mercier

The stations at Laura Mercier were providing people with he perfect flawless base.  I was a little surprised actually, the lady looking after me actually chose a tinted moisturiser for me, which made my skin look flawless! I wasn’t expecting that from a tinted moisturiser!

  • Primer: Their original primer
  • Base: Tinted Moisturiser in porcelain
  • Concealer: shade 1N
  • Powder: Translucent loose powder
  • Bronzer: shade 04
  • Blush: Praline cheek colour

Kat Von D

This was one of the highlights of my day!  The queue was constant here, so we made the decision to join it.  We must have been queuing around 15 minutes, when the Kat Von D squad arrived (some of the top Kat Von D make up artists!!).  They looked AMAZING!!!  So unique, eye-catching and inspiring!! The next thing I knew, I had been asked if I would mind if one of them did my eye make up whilst they took some photos, I was sooo giddy and shocked! They pulled me and my Mum out of the queue, introduced me to Steffanie Strazzere and sat me down at one of the make up stations.  She was absolutely lovely and proceeded to give me the best eye liner I have ever worn! I couldn’t believe how lucky I was to have been chosen!  They even did my Mum’s eye liner!  We were living the dream!

Nars

The queue for Nars was long, but quick, only around 20mins and totally worth it!  The were doing statement lips for people.  I don’t normally go for anything bold, as I am a bit rubbish with lip liner and putting the colour on evenly, however I thought I better go for something I wouldn’t normally choose. They prepped, primed, lines and finished my statement lip perfectly!  I had (see pic below):

  • Lip liner: Rouge Marocain.
  • Lipstick: Satin lipstick in Afghan Red.

The 4.15pm Influencers Masterclass

I was really looking forward to this talk hosted by Alessandra Steinherr, featuring guest speakers:

  • Estee Lalonde – @esteelalonde
  • Victoria Magrath – @Inthefrow
  • Habiba Da Silva – @lifelongpercussion
  • Em Ford – @mypaleskinblog
  • Sammi Maria – @samanthamariaofficial

Seeing some of my favourtie bloggers in person, getting to know a little more about them and understanding how they coped with their huge rise in popularity, it was great! They covered how they deal with negative comments, how they started out, the way their content has evolved, what motivates them and if they ever take time out. Such an inspiring set of ladies!!  My blog is only tiny and I appreciate everyone who takes the time to read it, listening to their stories has made me more determined to stick at it, it’s a real passion of mine!  So thank you to everyone who supports me!

Feel Unique

The queue for this was a little crazy, but it seemed to move pretty fast (probably queued for around 30mins). You were allowed to choose 5 samples to make your own goodie bag…possibly THE BEST pick ‘n’ mix I have ever seen!!

Guerlain

They were launching their new fragrance for spring and were giving complimentary hand massages using their fragranced body lotion.  The ladies were absolutely lovely! The massage was very relaxing, just what I needed towards the end of the festival.

The Goodie Bag

If all the treatments, make up and hair treats we had received during the day hadn’t been enough, then this goodie bag would make up for it.  It was jam-packed full of sooo many products!  I will definitely be returning next year!  Thank you Glamour Beauty!
