I was lucky enough to be chosen by Avene and @alexsteinherr to trial the new Hydrance Rich Hydrating Cream before it’s launch this month.
What was it?
“Eau Thermale Avene Hydrance Optimale Rich is a hydrating moisturiser for dry to very dry dehydrated sensitive skin. Based on Meiboserin which limits the evaporation of the Avene Thermal Spring Water from the skin and Lipomucine® which increases coverage across the skin. Paraben free”
How to use
The instructions state to apply in the morning and/or evening to a cleansed face and neck. Although I do apply this both morning and evening, I tend to just apply this to my cheeks and around my eye socket (not in my eyes). My skin is oily/combination and is prone to blemishes and breakouts, but I do find areas are very dehydrated.
My thoughts
The texture is gorgeous, very thick and creamy. I actually think it is a lot thicker than any other moisturisers I own. It massages well into skin and really absorbs quickly, so doesn’t need a lot of rubbing in. The cream doesn’t leave a greasy residue, although you can feel that you have used a cream to the touch, if that makes sense.
The cream does have a fragrance, which I find quite strong. It isn’t over powering, but I find it similar to Sudocrem nappy cream. I actually happen to like the smell of nappy cream haha but others might not.
My skin felt really hydrated after use. As the cream is much thicker, I felt it really provided my skin with an extra boost of moisture. The effects of the cream seemed to last a lot longer and my skin didn’t dry out as fast. I found this to be a great cream for me, applying it to my cheeks and eye area to boost moisture, nourish and soothe my skin whilst I slept. In the morning my skin seemed more hydrated and plumped, ready for the day.
Pros:
- Very hydrating so great for really dry skin
- Easy to fit into your current routine
- Very smooth, great texture and left my skin so soft.
- Calming, nourishing and soothing, not irritating to skin
- Budget friendly £13.50 for 40ml
Cons:
- Quite a strong fragrance
- Possibly not great for oily skin on the T Zone
Although this product was gifted, everything I have written is my honest opinion, thoughts and experiences. Thanks for reading.
